Metro prepare for digitalisation with key role appointment

Metro’s drive towards increased digitising of all business operations and customer interfaces is accelerating with the appointment of industry tech leader, Claus Rasmussen to the technical solutions team, in the new role of Director of Information Systems.

Claus will take the quality, resilience and development of Metro’s operational systems to the next level, reporting to the main board, alongside Metro’s Technical Solutions Director, Simon George.

Claus has over 30 years IT experience in the forwarding, logistics and supply chain space, gained in a range of management and executive leadership positions, in the UK and North America.

Most recently Claus was managing director (EMEA) of the US 3PL, OIA Global and a member of their global leadership team, managing the EMEA organisation in 16 countries, with 26 offices and 220 staff with $100m revenue.

It is the availability, integrity and manipulative qualities of this data that ensures we can develop and deliver radical new tools quickly and efficiently, as evidence by our CuDoS Brexit platform and new satellite-based vessel visibility tools, built in just days following the Ever Given grounding.
