The FTA is one of the biggest business groups in the UK, supporting and standing up for efficient logistics. It is the only organisation in the UK that represents all of logistics, with members from the road, rail, sea and air industries, as well as the buyers of freight services such as retailers and manufacturers whose businesses depend on the efficient movement of goods, which is why their awards are so unique.
The FTA Logistics Awards represent the best of the best in each sector, and include specific initiatives or projects in employment and training, environment, customer care, technology, transformation, operational efficiency and innovation.
For a submission to be successful it must demonstrate to the judges that the entrant has generated exceptional results and impact, and is truly class leading.
2019 is the first year that Metro have participated in the FTA awards.
Competing against forwarders, airlines, airports and ground service companies, the Metro submission – which highlighted a collaborative initiative with a regional airport and cargo carriers – has been shortlisted for the FTA ‘Air Business of the Year’.
David Wells, Chief Executive of FTA, commented: “Finalists represent the ‘best of the best’ of our sector. They have been selected for their outstanding commitment, knowledge and expertise.
Winners will be announced at a Gala Dinner at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge on Thursday 24 October 2019.
